Fun couple of days

Yesterday I went to have my teeth cleaned. That's all, just cleaned. I ended up getting not one, but TWO root canals!!!! What was supposed to be a thirty minute ordeal ended up taking THREE HOURS. Grrrrrr. That makes SEVEN teeth that have had to have root canals. That's what I get for not taking care of my teeth in college. Serves me right.

This morning we had to get up at 5:00 to take Corgan to the Pediatric Surgery Center in Plano to have his tube removed from his right ear. He's had a bad ear infection for the past few weeks that finally cleared up to the point where they could get in there and remove the nasty yucky infection incrusted tube. Doesn't that paint a pretty picture?

Before they took him back the nurse gave him a sedative to make him real relaxed before they put him under anesthesia, essentially turning him into a big slug. The nurse picked him up and took him back and not fifteen minutes later, he was in recovery! I had LITERALLY just picked up my book to sit back and relax for a minute and the doctor came in to give us a report on how everything went. They removed the tube without any problems, but there is a tiny tear in his eardrum that they are going to give a year to heal on it's own. With my luck, we'll be back at the surgical center on April 20, 2008.

Corgan was really upset after he woke up. He was literally unconsolable. It really broke my heart to hear him cry and not be able to do anything to help him feel better. He was just miserable. The nurse gave him some Ibuprofen and not ten minutes later he threw it all up, all over me, all over Boggy, all over himself. Poor baby. Anyway, we finally got to come home and we took it easy today. After a FOUR HOUR NAP (WOO HOO!!!!) he was like himself again. His ear is bleeding quite a bit, which is NASTY, but normal.

So, let me just tell you what. I'm tired. I'm grumpy. My teeth hurt and I have a headache. Enough of the uplifting material, I will now sign off.
