Tent Fun
The other day I walked into my bedroom to see Corgan, Caiden and Daddy camping out in the family "tent". It was so stinking cute, I had to grab the camera to get shots of their little legs sticking out from underneath the sheet.

Funny Kid...
5 Months Old!!!
My little Buddy is FIVE MONTHS OLD!!! (Well, actually he's almost six months old, but these pictures were taken on his five month birthday so leave me alone.)

Caiden is loving to roll all over the floor, is getting to where he can push himself backwards, which really frustrates him because he's trying to reach the toys in FRONT of him. HE is a super sweet baby with a very deep voice. He coos and cuddles, playing with your hair on the back of your neck. He gets so excited when Corgan comes around, already worshipping his big brother!

Buddy Time....
Corgan wanted to read Caiden a nice story the other day...
"Ok Caiden. This story is about a depressed catapillar with low self-esteem named Percival. He felt very inadequate about his looks."

"So one day, Percival goes into a deep anesthesia induced slumber, and comes out lookin fierce, with very enhanced features..."

"Moral of the story is...
If at first you don't esteem,
Try, try to change.
Or something like that.
Maybe you can even do something about your ears."

You asked...
On my 17th birthday I was a cheerleader in high school and my birthday fell on a Friday. Fridays are a BIG deal in a Texas town during football season, so during lunch we had a pep rally. I was head cheerleader that week (we rotated so EVERYONE could feel special...) and had just said, "Ready?" for the last cheer. They didn't say, "OK!" I was really confused. One of the cheerleaders said, "Not yet!" And proceeded to lead the entire gym in an offkey rendition of Happy Birthday. It was so awesome!
My mom and brother were there for the pep rally and had brought me a balloon boquet with Diet Dr. Pepper and Junior Mints (which were my favorite things at the time). There were seventeen little mini boxes of junior mints with a memory of each year of my life taped to the box. I still have the little notes my mom wrote in a memory box in the attic! It was a lot of fun!
!!!UPDATE!!!
I think my air is finally fixed. YAHOO!!!! We had several days of very uncomfortable living conditions, but have finally maintained 76 degrees in the house for three whole days. It's a miracle. How on EARTH did people survive without AC?????
I will post more pictures of my adorable spawn soon. My camera will not connect to my computer, so I have to go to Walmart and get a picture cd made. Very convenient...

I'm Baaaaack!
Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Things have been... crazy. This is what I've been up to in the past twenty days...
* Watched the new Harry Potter movie. Pretty good. Harry's kind of turning into a hottie.
* Read the last *sniff* Harry Potter book. Ok. I'll admit it. I read the last two chapters first. I just couldn't stand it!!!! Don't worry. No spoilers here. You'll just have to read all seven hundred and something pages yourself!
* Caiden turned FIVE MONTHS OLD!!!! Holy crap! He is super close to being mobile which completely freaks me out since Corgan was such a slacker and didn't crawl until he was ten months old. Caiden can't wait to catch up to his older brother. He spins around when he's on his belly and is sitting up!
* I've been sick... My throat hurts, my head hurts, I cough all the time and sneeze from my toes. I was complaining to Travis tonight about my ailments and he said, "Try some Chloraseptic." "I already did..." "Well, did you try the Halls epileptic?" "What?! I said sneezing, not SEIZING!" "Oh, I mean Mentholatum." Trust me folks. He really is smart. Just a little confused sometimes.
* I've been teaching a BUNCH. At least two, if not three classes a day. Psycho, I know. What can I say? I'm a bit of a freak.
* Our AC was on the fritz, so I've been sitting in an 87 degree house in the middle of the day. Oh, yeah. I would pack the boys up and we'd sit in the car with the AC on full blast to cool off. It actually felt better outside than in this house. So fun.
I think that about sums it up! I'll post pictures when I can finally download them from my camera. We switched to Windows Vista and our camera's software isn't compatible. Sheesh. So, hold on to your panties! You'll get some awesome pictures soon!!!!

New Word!
Time to censor my language! Corgan has a new favorite word! Anytime he falls down, bumps into something, or can't get something to work, he says, "Crap!" Very very clearly. So it looks like I'm going to have to stop saying "naughty words." Crap.

Four Months!
Baby Caiden is FOUR MONTHS OLD!!! Can you believe it?! He has found his feet, drools like a monster, coos like a dove and squeals like a stuck pig. Any time you lay him on his back, he flips right over onto his tummy! He is such a great baby and we love him soooo much! We'll be going to the pediatrician on Saturday, so we will have all his specs then.

Corgan's Obsession...
Anyone who knows Corgan knows that he LOOOOVES balloons. At Travis's birthday party on Saturday, Corgan sang "Happy Birthday to Balloons..." Every where we go he looks for balloons! One time we were going to go to lunch at Chick-fil-A and had to get our food to go because there were balloons there. He freaks out... He loves to let balloons go and see how high they can go. We actually have a Chuck E. Cheese mylar balloon that it stuck to our skylight in the bathroom because Corgan had to take the balloon to the highest point in the house and let it go. Whenever he goes in the bathroom he points up to the skylight and says, "Balloon is toooo high..." Um, yeah. Butt nugget. How do you scrape melted on balloon off of your skylight?
I really think he dreams about balloons. He'll wake up from a nap and say, "Too high in the sky..." He has me draw balloons for them. Corgan directs me as to where the string, nose, eyes, mouth, ears, hearing aides, hair, and glasses go. Our balloons aren't just ovals on a string. They are entire personalities. Tonight, Corgan and Nana were drawing balloons, and Corgan decided he'd try his hand at the fine art of balloon creation...
Corgan's first attempt at drawing a balloon...(those are eyes and a mouth...)

"He's a Maniac..."
We're at Camp Nana's right now and she has a cd player in her computer room. Corgan asked me to put some music on so he could dance... He was so cute! He'd stick out his elbows and kick out his feet and saying, "I'm dancing!!!!" He definitely got his dancing "skills" from me... Poor sweet child.

My Dad....
That handsome guy in the blue is my dad. He is fabulous! I am so lucky to have a kind hearted, funny, loving man as my dad. It doesn't matter how "grown up" you are, you still need your daddy every once in a while. When I was in labor with Corgan, my mom and dad came out to Georgia to be with me and Travis. It seemed like every single time my dad left the room, something scary would happen. The first time, there was meconium in the water, the next time I had a bad reaction to the epidural and my blood pressure dropped, the last time he left, they overdosed me on pitocin and I had a ten minute contraction that they couldn't stop. Now, my dad being a doctor, I can only imagine the lack of control he felt when he walked into the room to see his daughter surrounded by medical staff, the doctor (finally) ordering an emergency cesarean. I told the nurse that I wanted my dad in the delivery room. She said, "Well, you're really only supposed to have one person with you..." I said, "My dad is coming in." Now, considering the fact that she was the idiot that upped my pitocin from 8 to 100 thinking there was a decimal point between the zeroes, she really didn't want to argue with me.
I had Travis holding my hand and my dad overseeing the surgery. I breathed a sigh of relief. I just knew that if my dad was there, I was safe. And sure enough, I was. During my subsequent stay and recovery at the hospital, the staff was REALLY nice to me... Apparently someone wrote in my chart, "Patient's father is a physician." I was no ordinary fool. I was a well informed fool with a really smart dad. Ah, the power...
Happy Father's Day!!!!
I have been so blessed to have a husband that is an amazing father. He loves both boys with all of his heart! Travis will have had a looooooong day at work and school, and will still play with Corgan, give him a bath and snuggle with Caiden. No matter what, he makes time for his boys. At church today, the speaker was talking about fathers (of course) and said, "To children, love is spelled T-I-M-E." That really stuck with me. Corgan and Caiden won't remember monetary things that Travis provided for them, they'll remember the time he spent playing XBox with them, taking them to Chuck E. Cheese, and flying the kite in the backyard...

Scary!
Last night after Corgan had gone to bed, Travis and I could hear him talking to himself in the crib. Now, normally we would have ignored it and let him go back to sleep, but I felt I should look in on him. I open the door to peek in and see Corgan COVERED in BLOOD. Holy Crap! I just about freaked out! There was blood on his face, his neck, all over his hands and arms, the blanket, both froggies, car pillow, etc. etc... Apparently he'd had a nose bleed. Thankfully I checked in on him... If I'd waited until morning, I would have seen Corgan asleep with dried blood all over and probably thought he was dead. Freaky. Gives me the heebee jeebees.

MAJOR MILESTONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness. We have begun to climb Everest. Not really. I don't live in Washington, so it'd be kinda hard to do that. And, I don't like to hike. Specially not a freakin huge mountain. I'm talking figuratively here. Anyway! We have begun Potty Training...
I am always asking Corgan if he wants to sit on the potty, and he says, "No. No potty." Imagine my suprise when I asked him yesterday if he wanted to sit on the potty and he said, "Yeah... Potty!" He sat on the big boy potty (of course, not the forty dollar potty chair I bought that sings, lights up, and collects dust) and proceeded to pee! His face lit up and he was so proud, he strutted around the house like he was hot stuff!
Today he sat on the potty a few times and *almost* pooped on the toilet. He had a couple of juicy toots, but nothing substantial.
I just now realized how gross this post is, but if you are a mother, your heart will leap with joy. Especially if you are a mother of two children in diapers...

Caiden's Blessing Day...
Isn't he sweet? We finally had Caiden blessed this past Sunday. Travis was able to give a wonderful blessing to my special little guy. He was blessed to have great friends and an understanding of the gospel. When Travis started the blessing, Caiden looked up at him and smiled and started cooing... So sweet! We were able to have some great men in the circle - My Dad, Aaron, Rob, David Bryan, Terry Jetton, and Gary Sampson. Most of my family was able to attend, and that meant a lot to Travis and me.
Chrissy, of course, took pictures! She is so talented. Don't you think? Of course, it doesn't hurt to have such an adorable subject!

Here's a Thought...
Why do people try to get the closest parking spot when going to the gym? Isn't it like, the whole freaking point? To get exercise? To break a sweat? I taught a class tonight and saw this car circling and circling the parking lot, trying to find the closest possible spot to the front door. I mean, hellllo? What lazy butts.
